I tried all day yesterday to leave a comment, a bit of hope or consolation but no words came. Still no words come.

I am overjoyed that Donna is with Jesus, but I am overwhelmingly sad that she is not here with you, Scott, Rachel and Emily.

Donna inspired me with her unshakable faith in God. She helped me through some bleak times and didn't even know it. She always had a smile, even when she was in pain from the kidney stones. I am so thankful for the precious few minutes I spent with her in the nursing room at church that Sunday.

I don't understand God's will here but I trust, because Donna trusted and because God has never forsaken those who seek him.

I only met Donna a few times--she was a blessing to me, as I'm sure she was (and still is) to many others.

I sat grieving early Wednesday morning. Grieving for Scott, Rachel and Emily, grieving for all of us who have been blessed to know Donna. So many memories were running through my mind; a memory of Donna sitting in my living room the evening of Scott and Donna's first date, Scott and Donna's wedding, Scott and Donna as newlyweds in the lobby of church (PDA), Mrs. D. Harvey shepherding the girls of The Hill and then the Lord gave me a picture of Donna "boom chugga lugga-ing" in heaven, (only The Hill people will get that one)! It was a beautiful sight! I will surely miss the intentness of Donna's eyes as she always listened so well and her incredible laugh as she always shared her joy so well! The Smileys love the Harveys! God is good all the time, all the time, God is good!

I was sitting in the office today picturing Donna chatting with Pastor Steve, I picture her with the GEMS girls, I remember how she would look at you intently as you spoke with her, I remember her laugh, I remember how one of the girls shared about how there is a circle of safety and when we are disobedient God sometimes has to spank us back into the safety of that circle. I loved that word picture that she gave the girls about being obedient. It is so hard to grasp that she is no longer with us physically. But Donna will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. I can’t imagine you and the girls being without her – but I do know that whatever God calls us to do HE will enable us to do it.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to HIS power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

What a wonderful way to show a beautiful, caring, and loving lady that Donna was. Our Lord now has a very precious person that we will miss terribly.

You know we are praying constantly for you and the girls. Why the Lord takes home some cancer patients and not others, I guess we just don't know. Maybe when we're all in heaven we won't particularly care why.
I have so many scattered memories of Donna. Your wedding and how her face shone when you sang that song to her. Seeing Donna in that little tiny bathroom at Cran Hill ranch helping Christyn before her wedding. You 2 were so great to step up and help us when we really didn't know how to do a wedding (well I didn't anyway) Having Emily and Rachel in my group at the Hill for so many years gave me wonderful glimpses of your family life. Donna was so good in the Hill. Do children in heaven need stories? I know God will start to fill that great emptiness you feel, but I think He will always leave part of that hole. It makes you long more deeply to be with the Lord when "half of you" is already there. We love you.

How privileged those who knew Donna must feel while saddened to not have her with them. Such a beautiful woman, such a beautiful family. The pictures seem to show a beautiful soul. I am not sure what to say, especially after reading all the beautiful comments already posted. Donna was a joy and blessing to us all. Your marriage and love for one another was both and example and an inspiration. Your and Donna's love of Christ is a lesson to us all. From the time we first met many years ago (you were just a young pup) you both have had a special place in our hearts and you both have played an important role in our family's walk with the Lord. Please know that Donna will live in our hearts for ever. May God give you and the girls His comfort, His peace and His assurance.

Scott,
It's hard to believe that Donna was struggling with this insipid disease for over 10 years. Yes, there was a grace period, but it still sat there hovering, waiting, then finally taking a bit of light from our presence.
I am thankful God granted her peace from her suffering.
My hope is that this peace and grace overflows to you and the girls quickly.
Prayers for you, and as Grandma Harvey says on her cards "Lot of Love,"
